Ventured to Plymouth to see We Are The Ocean (well, i initially went to see Hexes, but they pulled out just after i fucking committed to going).
So, after a reasonably stressful journey (my nemesis was a black UPS van, bitch) we arrived in Plymouth in time for the highlight of the evening, my hash brown melt from "Jake's" which was absolutely fucking delicious, although this meant we missed the first band "All Forgotten", i still feel this was a worthy sacrifice.
Two quick Becks later, "The Amity Affliction" coming all the from Aus were up, and they were pretty damn awesome. My first taste of Australian hardcore/post-hardcore and I want more, highlight of the night (other than my food).
"Flood of Red" were on next, and were also pretty good, though the crowd were a bit shit to tell the truth, mostly because some twelve year old girls insisted on standing right in the centre of where the pit should've been; no-one wants to hit twelve year old girls.
"We are the Ocean" last (duh) and were again good. I felt a bit out of place as everyone knew the words and I didn't (to be fair my reason for going, as stated earlier, was Hexes). But still a pretty enjoyable set, although some prick ripped my shirt in the pit.
Didn't have enough money so I just bought a £2 EP and some badges. Fun gig but could've been better IF HEXES WERE FUCKING THERE.
