Blah, blah, blah.
Well its been a pretty sweet few weeks. I've seen: Strike Anywhere, Propagandhi, Ruiner, Unrestrained, Trash Talk, among others.
Went to see Gallows last night and they were pretty damn shit really. Aside from the fact that musically they were just, well, average, the whole experience was really a rather "I'm more punk than you, sex pistols (cough, shit) type of thing, complete with attempting to fight a member of the crowd for heckling them. then storming off stage. It struck me that they were probably pretty good live once, but have become a "stage band", used to thousands of screaming faces whilst they show off how tough they are. And this whole attitude of "lets see how hurt everyone can get" and "if you don't like us I'm going to hit you", pathetic. Is that really hardcore? No.
Its worth noting how fucking awesome Trash Talk were though, totally blew Gallows away.
Wanted to mention how outstanding the Ruiner show was too. All the bands (Ruiner, Unrestrained, The River Card, Crocus) were absolutely outstanding. Downtown Riots played too but i missed them.
Expect some lovely fisheye shots of the last couple of weeks when I get some money to get them developed.
So yeah, my last few weeks have been good in terms of music. Ooh, also seen Bangers like four times and Crazy Arm twice, which was fun. Random Hand and Dan Potthast tomorrow, then Kasa before Christmas.
Oh, one more thing...
FUCKING SICK OF IT ALL PLAYING PLYMOUTH NEXT YEAR.
Moar ponies.

WATO.
Ventured to Plymouth to see We Are The Ocean (well, i initially went to see Hexes, but they pulled out just after i fucking committed to going).
So, after a reasonably stressful journey (my nemesis was a black UPS van, bitch) we arrived in Plymouth in time for the highlight of the evening, my hash brown melt from "Jake's" which was absolutely fucking delicious, although this meant we missed the first band "All Forgotten", i still feel this was a worthy sacrifice.
Two quick Becks later, "The Amity Affliction" coming all the from Aus were up, and they were pretty damn awesome. My first taste of Australian hardcore/post-hardcore and I want more, highlight of the night (other than my food).
"Flood of Red" were on next, and were also pretty good, though the crowd were a bit shit to tell the truth, mostly because some twelve year old girls insisted on standing right in the centre of where the pit should've been; no-one wants to hit twelve year old girls.
"We are the Ocean" last (duh) and were again good. I felt a bit out of place as everyone knew the words and I didn't (to be fair my reason for going, as stated earlier, was Hexes). But still a pretty enjoyable set, although some prick ripped my shirt in the pit.
Didn't have enough money so I just bought a £2 EP and some badges. Fun gig but could've been better IF HEXES WERE FUCKING THERE.
About.
I'm Jake, 18 and living in Cornwall, UK.
This blog is a catalog of my thoughts and my photographs; either for when i just need to let them out, or on the odd occasion when i actually want someone to read them.
If you want me to take photos of your gig, surf event, or basically anything else then leave me a comment and i'll get back to you.
